muse [myoōz] - to think, contemplate, soberly reflect upon
a•muse [ə'myoōz] - to not think?
It seems that our culture is more interested in being amused by that which is passing away than in musing upon that which will last forever.
Muse upon the thoughts of God, and you'll begin to not only think his thoughts, but also to speak his words and do his deeds.
Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, muse upon these things. (Philippians 4:8)
If you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Muse upon the things above, not upon the things that are on earth. (Colossians 3:1-2)
